Breath.

It sounds simple; and really, it is. Our bodies breathe all on their own, without any active participation from us. We don’t need to tell any part of ourselves that oxygen is necessary, or how to breathe in and out for survival.

But when we choose to focus only on our breath, we begin to realize how good that simple act can make us feel. A deep, slow inhale that straightens the spine slightly. A long, powerful exhale that pulls the shoulders away from the ears, where they have been stationed to hold our stress and worry better.
